14/365
The Invention of Lying (2009)
Cast: Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, Louis C.K., Jonah Hill, Tina Fey, Rob Lowe
Synopsis:
It’s a world where everyone tells the truth - and just about anything they’re thinking. Mark Bellison is a screenwriter, about to be fired. He’s short and chunky with a flat nose - a genetic pool that means he won’t get to first base with Anna, the woman he loves. At a bank, on the spur of the moment he blurts out a fib, with eye-popping results. Then, when his mother’s on her deathbed, frightened of the eternal void awaiting her, Mark invents fiction. The hospital staff overhear his description of Heaven, believe every word, and tell others. Soon Mark is a prophet, his first inventive screenplay makes him rich, and he’s basically a good guy. But will that be enough for Anna?
My Rating: 7/10
Mark: “Are you always happy?”
Anna: “Usually. Although I spend some days in bed, eating and crying.”
“Even if the man in the sky does bad stuff to you here, He makes up for it by giving you eternal happiness when you die.”

Baby Mama (2008)
Cast: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Greg Kinnear
Synopsis:
Kate Holbrook (Tina Fey) is a 37-year-old business executive who has always put her professional life before her personal life, but these days her biological clock is ticking louder than ever before. As with everything else she has accomplished in life, Kate is determined to have a child on her own terms. Unfortunately for Kate, the chance of her ever becoming pregnant is slim to none. Undaunted, a willful Kate drafts South Philly working-class girl Angie Ostrowiski (Amy Poehler) — a woman who may just be her polar opposite — to be a surrogate mother. Subsequently informed by the head of the surrogacy center (Sigourney Weaver) that her surrogate is indeed pregnant, the excited mother-to-be soon purchases every child-rearing book she can find and excitedly begins the nesting process. But life hasn’t quit throwing Kate curveballs just yet, because when a pregnant Angie shows up on her doorstep with no place to live, the woman who once thrived on order finds her life descending into chaos. Now, as Kate attempts to transform Angie into the ideal expectant mother, this odd couple will discover that families aren’t always biological, but occasionally formed through friendship as well.
Comments:
- Amy’s character ‘Angie’ annoyed the heck out of me but she has the funniest lines in the movie.
- Prepare to laugh so hard!
My Rating: 7.5/10

Instead of just “watching them from afar” or stalking them secretly, wishing they were yours. Actually attempt to talk to them. You can’t expect to make someone fall for you if all you are doing is admiring them from a distance. If you really want someone, take the risk.. Be confident and at least try to talk to them. Cause you never know what could happen right?

Chloe (2009)
Cast: Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried
Synopsis:
An untrusting wife attempts to prove that her husband is cheating by hiring an escort to seduce him, inadvertently endangering her entire family in the process. Catherine (Julianne Moore) is a respected doctor, and her husband, David (Liam Neeson), is a dedicated music professor. They’ve been married for years and have a teenage son together, but lately the passion has faded from their romance. The morning after David misses his flight home — and the elaborate surprise birthday party Catherine had planned to celebrate his return — Catherine finds a text message on his phone that leads her to believe her husband is sleeping with a female student. Her suspicions grow over the following weeks, and when Catherine has a run-in with an escort named Chloe (Amanda Seyfried), she hires the ravishing blonde to test her husband’s fidelity. After each encounter with David, Chloe reports back to Catherine with all the sordid details. But the further the experiment goes, the less clear Chloe’s motivations for taking part in it become, and the more the untrusting wife begins to fear that the situation has spiraled out of control.
Comments:
- Never hire an escort/prostitute/slut for anything at all
- If you think your boyfriend/husband is cheating on you, the best way to know is to ASK.
- Creepy in a nice way.
My Rating: 7/10
Is it just me or Ginnifer Goodwin is really good at playing the I-don’t-love-you-go-live-your-life-without-me-be-happy-and-find-someone-who-loves-you-back-thing, when her character really feels otherwise.
